This year's Apple Classic will be a turf war
CHESHIRE - Beckoned to the track for an interview Monday night, Sebastian Little stopped at the very edge of Cheshire's new artificial turf field like Ray Liotta's Joe Jackson in "Field of Dreams."

Little and the Rams inaugurate the new turf of Maclary Athletic Complex on Thursday morning when Southington comes calling for the 16th edition of the Apple Classic.
It's been a long time coming. Even before the Chinese water torture of this fall, when work on the turf and track proceeded steadily, but slowly and the Rams relocated their home games one by painstaking one to neutral sites, Cheshire turf proponents had long made their pitch in vain.
