The other top teams in the Big 12 (Baylor, Missouri, Kansas) all have specific strengths and weaknesses, but Missouri and Kansas are both vulnerable in the paint to a team that is deep up front. Baylor, on the other hand, with Perry Jones back in the fold has an extremely talented crop of big men. It will be very interesting to watch the Wildcats against the Bears when the time comes.
But, Baylor is secondary to K-State. You can be sure Frank Martin is thinking more about Kansas and Missouri. On that score, he’s got an advantage as long as his bigs come to play.
As it stands right now, the top three players on K-State’s team by Efficiency Rating are the three big men – Henriquez, Samuels and Gipson. All of them have exceeded an EFF of 20 at least once so far in the five games.
