Theatre Bristol holds open auditions for 'Steel Magnolias'
Theatre Bristol will hold open auditions for its production of Steel Magnolias on Monday, Dec. 12 and Wednesday, December 13 at 7 p.m. at Theatre Bristol, 512 State Street, Bristol, Tenn.. Roles are available are for six women, ages 17 and up.
All individuals wishing to audition may come to one of the two audition dates, no prepared materials are necessary. Please bring your calendar of potential conflicts and wear appropriate footwear (no flip flops, crocs, clogs or sandals please) – sneakers are fine.
All the action is set in Truvy’s Beauty salon where all the “true” ladies in this small town will come to have their hair done. Truvy is helped by her eager new assistant, Annelle, who is not sure whether or not she is married! The outspoken, wise cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to the town’s rich curmudgeon, Ouiser: eccentric and moneyed, Miss Clairee, who has a raging sweet tooth; and the local social leader, M’Lynn, whose daughter, Shelby is about to marry a “good ole boy”.
