Shirley Police Briefs
Larceny from a business reported on Monday, Dec. 5 was apparently an inside job. According to Police Chief Gregory Massak, the person who allegedly stole money from East Coast Electronics Recycling Division on Walker Road was an employee and was caught in the act by on-site surveillance cameras.
Shirley police are working with the company's security people as the investigation continues. Massak said it was not clear yet if charges would be filed against the employee, who has apparently been terminated.
Too Big to Turn Around
A tractor-trailer ended up stuck on the grass in front of a Longley Road residence Tuesday morning, Dec. 6. Chief Massak said the driver was apparently attempting a U-turn after taking a wrong turn off Groton Road/Route 225.
After the driver provided the homeowner with insurance information, a local towing firm helped him get the truck off the grass and on its way.
