With hairdressers in mind
In yet another reflective phone conversation, my neighbour and I were discussing her hairdresser who like my hairdresser and most others, wears those extremely flat, most times hard fashion slippers and sandals all day. What footwear would I recommended? Sneakers, soft loafers/sandals or slippers… She responded, "Sneakers!! No way, she's never going to wear that, my hairdresser is stylish." That's the problem; most of them are and place priority on fashion over health…wrong decision!
Like my neighbour's hairdresser, most others including my own suffer, sometimes silently in pain. Standing on hard surfaces for long hours places excessive pressure on the shoulders, back, hips, legs, knees, ankles and feet. My neighbour stated that I needed to do an article especially geared towards the hairdressers, and similarly to a lesser extent barbers, but I didn't see the need. I've spoken about the various issues these professions experience in other articles; however, she insisted that it's not the same as if it was directed specifically to them. After a few weeks of thinking about it, I decided it makes perfect sense.
