CHAPEL HILL — When Appalachian State’s names, heights and weights were written on the board in the North Carolina locker room, the measurements of two players were eye-catching.
Brian Okam. 7-foot, 260 pounds.

“We knew we had an advantage there,” the Tar Heels’ Tyler Zeller said.
“I knew then we were going to get out and run on them,” echoed fellow big man John Henson. “That’s what we do.”
And that’s the role in which Zeller proved particularly effective during fifth-ranked North Carolina’s 97-82 victory against Appalachian State on Saturday night at the Smith Center.
The Mountaineers’ biggest bodies had size but not nearly enough swiftness to keep up with Zeller, a 7-foot senior, who feasted at times in transition and finished with 31 points, one shy of a career best.
