WEST AKRON: Burglaries were reported at the following locations: the 500 block of Dorchester Road Nov. 12; the 900 block of Peerless Avenue Nov. 15; the 600 block of Garth Avenue Nov. 15; the 1400 block of Slosson Street Nov. 15; the 700 block of Grace Avenue Nov. 15; the 1100 block of Thorndale Drive Nov. 15; the first block of South Walnut Street Nov. 16; the 900 block of Bailey Avenue, in which a 17-year-old West Akron male was arrested, Nov. 16; the 100 block of South Portage Path Nov. 17; the 200 block of Dorchester Road Nov. 17; the 1800 block of Moonlit Trail Nov. 19; and the 200 block of Crosby Street between Nov. 19 and 20.
On Nov. 1 shortly before 4 a.m., two unknown suspects entered a Parkgate Avenue residence and held three victims, including a 2-year-old girl. The adult victims, a male and female, reported they were awakened by a suspect holding a gun to their heads. Both victims reportedly were tied up with plastic zip ties at their wrists and ankles, and the male was reportedly struck several times in the head with a gun. He then was taken by one suspect to his car and placed in the trunk. The other suspect took the woman to the 2-year-old’s room and reportedly placed a knife between the child’s legs, telling the woman she’d better cooperate and not move until he was outside. The suspects took the victims’ driver’s licenses. The suspects are black males of unknown ages, between 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall. One suspect, who was armed with a gun, was dark complexioned and wearing a black hoodie, face mask and gray Jordan shoes. The other suspect was armed with a knife and had a light complexion.
